Marshall school held its most pretigious and popular F.R. Marshall All India Inter School Debate on 19th of Nov. This competition is held every year in the memory of Mr. F.R. Marshall. In this fiery contested event participants debated on whether or not the “Police under states should be brought under Autonomous All India Body. The judges for the event were Col. K.D. Bhatt, Col S.D. Pharasi and Mrs. Jagjeet Kaur, Vice Principal shivalik International School . The ceremonial lamp was lit by our guest of honour Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Principal D.A.V Inter College. The competitors were from Bala Hissar Academy , Brooklyn School, Constancia, Doon Cambridge School , Modern School, Rishikesh and Marshall School. Vinisha Basnet and Umang Gupta conducted the debate.
Each school was represented by two speakers for and against the motion. The participants faced tough competition from their respective counterparts. The award for the best speaker for the motion was bagged by Neha chauhan of Brooklyn school and the best speaker against the motion was awarded to Franky Gupta of Marshall School.
The winning school was Marshall School , being the host school , the trophy was given to Doon Cambridge School , !st runner’s up.Those who won rejoiced over their victory and those who could not win were inspired to do better next time , but at the end of the day, it was the performance by all the students that gave pleasure to everyheart.
The runners up trophy was awarded to Modern school Rishikesh, the 2nd runners up.
Our guest of honour Dr. A.K. Srivastava gave a very inspiring speech and encouraged the students to participate in such competitions in order to boost their confidence. The debate concluded with a vote of thanks by our Vice principal , Mr. Rajneesh Juyal.
