On the 28th of October 2007, we held our 41st Annual Sports day at Jogiwala Complex . The chief guest for the occasions was honourable Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ( Nishank) , Health minister, Uttranchal Govt.
The day’s proceedings began with ceremonial opening March Past with each house squad putting up its best, resulting in a splendid display of co-ordinations and team –work . Shri G.C. Juyal , founder president of Marshall School took the salute.
All the houses gathered in the centre of the big field and pledged to participate with honour and put in all their efforts to bring pride and glory to their respective houses.
After this, the track event followed one after the another- 80 metres, 100 metres , 4x50 metres, 4x100 metres, 4x 400 metres in every category. The congregated athletes glistered and perfectly tuned, left the spectators marveling at their physical splendour.The junior school kids with great zest for life enthusiastically presented their musical drill screaning out to the world , the message to save environment. They were followed by students who gave beautiful performance with their biziums. The display of skill and coordinations was appreciated by everybody.
Then come the much awaited event of the year, the cycle race Every pari of eyes present there was glued to the field and had accelerating heart beats batting the odds , as the results appeared extremely uncertain . However, Rajat chauhan of Azad House prevented the others from winning the trophy.
The most impressive event of the day was Gymnastics, which was performed under the guidance ofMr. C.B. Rana. The Dare devil show of fire ring left the spectators with praise and amazement in their eyes.
As the Athletic event ended, the entire school gathered in the corner of the big field for the closing march past. Various led by their respective prefects marched one after another with perfect co-ordination.It was followed by prize ceremony where the results were declared and championship trophies were awarded.
Dinesh Sehgal of green house and Nidhi Sisodia of blue house were judged the best athletes in the senior boys and girls categories respectively. In the junior category individual champion were Iyush kumar and Damini Sharma of green house.
Ashoka (Blue) House won the trophy for best March Past. Overall trophy was judged by Azad (Yellow) House.
The trophies were given by the honourable chief guest Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” , who then proceeded to address the audience giving a rousing speech about the importance of sportsmanship and participation .The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Rajneesh Juyal, Vice Principal Marshall School .
The Annual Athletic meet thus managed to capture the striving for individual excellence and the spirit of sportsmanship at the same time.
